Privacy Policy

The CEO Game is a daily leadership card ritual by Veverka Ventures, a Canadian company based in British Columbia. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose.
Who's responsible for your data

What we collect
- Your email and first name - when you sign up. We use a one-click magic link to sign you in; there are no passwords.
- How you use the site - the cards you draw, pick, save, search for, and reshuffle, and the actions you take along the way. This includes the words you type into search and the text you type into the Oracle's reshuffle prompt.
- Basic technical details - a device identifier we set in your browser, plus your IP address, browser type, the page you came from, and timestamps. We use these to run the site, keep your daily draw consistent, and prevent abuse.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
Under Canadian privacy law we rely on your consent, and on what's reasonably needed to give you the service:
- To run the game and your account - drawing and saving cards, signing you in, keeping your daily draw consistent. This is what you ask us to do when you use the site.
- To understand what's working and improve- the usage tracking above. This is optional: you can decline it at any time (see “Your choices and rights”), and we treat it as consented until you do.
- To keep the site safe - preventing spam, bots, and abuse. We keep the minimum records needed for this even if you decline analytics.
We do not sell your data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
- Your account details (email, first name) - until you ask us to delete them.
- Usage and analytics(including search and reshuffle text) - up to 24 months, after which we delete it or keep it only in an aggregated form that can't identify you.
- Sign-in links - expire within minutes.
The Oracle and AI
When the Oracle writes a reflection, the card text (and, for a reshuffle, the prompt you typed) is sent to our AI provider to generate that reflection. We never send your email or other personal details to the AI. We treat the text you type into the reshuffle prompt as sensitive and limit who can read it.
Cookies and local storage
We set a small device cookie so the site can recognise your browser and keep your daily state - this one is necessary for the site to work. We also use your browser's local storage to remember things like which card you focused on. Our bot-check (Google reCAPTCHA) may set its own cookies. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The banner when you first arrive lets you decline the optional usage tracking, and that choice is remembered in a cookie.
Who we share data with
We use a small set of trusted services to run The CEO Game:
- Supabase - our database, sign-in, and file storage.
- SendGrid - to send your sign-in links and the cards you email yourself.
- Anthropic- the AI behind the Oracle's reflections (card text only, never your personal details).
- Google reCAPTCHA - to tell real people from bots at sign-up.
- Railway - hosting that runs the site.
Where your data is processed
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, we rely on recognised safeguards (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual protections) to keep your information protected to a comparable standard. By using the site you understand your information may be handled outside your province or country.
Your choices and rights
You can decline the optional usage trackingfrom the banner when you arrive (or by clearing the site's cookies to see it again). You can also clear your browser's cookies and local storage at any time to reset the device identifier.
You have the right to see, correct, or delete the personal information tied to your account. Email us at milan@veverka.caand we'll take care of it.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and - if you're in Quebec - the Commission d'accès à l'information. Visitors in the UK or EU can contact their local data protection authority.
Children
The CEO Game is made for working leaders and isn't directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear.
